GENERAL:
I first read about the mkiv in a bookstore while I was shopping for new sports cars. "Electronically limited to 155mph?" holy sh*t!, I said... I did a side-by-side with the 3000GTVR4, but there was no comparison, and I ordered my brand-spankin new mkiv from Toyota (made to order - I didn't buy it off the lot). It rolled of the truck at Toyota with 2 miles on the odometer in Jan'94, and I've loved it ever since. Not long after I got it home, I accelerated up the 30-degree incline into our subdivision in 1st gear - I hit the rev limiter so fast it made my head spin. I've enjoyed driving it for over 6 years now.
ENGINE:
I'm running the oem long block except for roadracing cams made by PHR. The turbo is a Fastrax T-51R. I'm running Bullish Racing's intake plenum, and a 90mm throttle-body.
FUEL:
850cc injectors, -10AN main feed, two (full) 6AN lines out of the fuel tank, BG -10AN fuel filter, -8AN feeds to both sides of the MaxRev fuel rail. Also, two Walbro GSS341 fuel pumps. I had the lines custom made, and I installed the system myself.
ELECTRONICS:
I use Haltech's E6K engine management. Bullish Racing helped me modify the wiring harness. I did all of the rest of the install myself.
BRAKES/CHASSIS:
I'm running Eibachs, GABs, and custom +50% TRD-oem'd sway bars. I run TRD-ss brake lines, Motul 600 fluid, and Panther Plus pads. I love these pads - they nearly throw my molars through the window whenever I brake a bit too hard...
WHEELS/TIRES:
I've got rolled fenders with 315x17s on widened oem rims in the rear, and 255x17's on (unwidened) oem rear rims in the front. I'm still budgeting 18" rims all the way around, with AP racing 6-piston caliper brakes and 14" rotors up front.
INTERIOR:
Carbon-fiber trim, and a bunch of gauges. I especially love my GReddy air/fuel gauge. This allows for some (crude but effective) street-tuning, which has saved a lot of dyno time. The air/fuel gauge is also helpful for troubleshooting in conjunction with the fuel pressure gauge, EGT, etc.
EXTERIOR:
Rolled fenders to fit the 315's in the back...
PERFORMANCE:
713 rwhp uncorrected, at about 35psi of boost (I only run about 28psi on the street with 104 octane race gas).
